So, a friend asked me how he could gain size, below is the exact message I sent him back.
Okay here are my tips for putting on size summed up:
- Shakes are okay, they are not as good as food but are better than nothing.
- Don’t worry about being lean, if you want size you need to make it your priority, too many people have a million goals. You’re much better to have one goal at a time and do it well.
- Eat…..a lot!!! Eggs, meat, milk whatever you find!
- Lift heavy weights for high reps (between 8-12 reps and 3-5 sets)
- Do high rep squats, even if you just want a big upper body, squats use everything!
- Learn to deadlift and do it heavy!!
- You have to spend a lot of time under load and tension, do loaded carries…..pick something heavy up and just walk with it until the weight peels out your hands!
- And keep your training balanced, if you do a push movement do a pull movement.
And watch the pounds pile on!
